This Harare based role with travel is broader than a traditional Mining Engineer position.
Our client seeks an individual with a strong mining background who can identify sales opportunities, understand mine operational requirements, and develop long-term client relationships while promoting Engineering’s capabilities ans solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Visiting existing and prospective mining clients throughout Zimbabwe.
- Identifying operational challenges and capital projects and engineering solutions.
- Building relationships with mine management, engineering departments, procurement teams, and project personnel.
- Assisting in the preparation of quotations, tenders, and technical proposals.
- Managing opportunities from initial engagement through to project award and implementation.
- Grow the company’s client base while maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships.
Our client provides a broad range of engineering products and services to the mining sector, including:
- Structural steelwork and mine infrastructure.
- Process plant steel fabrication.
- Workshops, warehouses, sheds, and storage facilities.
- Conveyors and material handling systems.
- Mining maintenance and shutdown services.
- Crane hire and heavy lifting solutions.
- Civil engineering works.
- General engineering fabrication and customized mining solutions.
The company has an established client base within the Zimbabwean mining industry; however a key objective of this role will be to further expand their market share and develop new business opportunities across both existing and emerging mines.
The ideal candidate would therefore possess a combination of:
- A mining engineering or related technical qualification.
- Strong commercial acumen and business development skills.
- An extensive network within the Zimbabwean mining industry.
- The ability to identify engineering opportunities rather than simply respond to enquiries.
