Our client seeks to appoint an Accountant to work in the finance team operating in the Tobacco Sector.
You must be a Chartered Accountant and have completed TIPP articled training through a recognised CA Firm with 3 – 5 years commercial experience.
The role responsibilities require knowledge and skills in the area of:
- Financial management, reporting, and taxation
- Financial Analysis reporting
- Financial Accounting and budgets
The Key Result Areas include:
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring procedures remain current and control gaps are addressed.
- Review and update the Key Control Matrix (KCM) and monitor segregation of duties (SoD) within SAP.
- Coordinate internal, compliance and SOX audits, providing required documentation and ensuring timely implementation of audit recommendations.
- Administer annual insurance renewals and manage insurance claims in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of trial balance (TB) accounts and financial records.
- Approve purchase requisitions and work orders in line with delegated authority.
- Calculate, post and analyse inventory reserves, including deferred crop costs and manufacturing variances.
- Prepare and review annual departmental budgets, monthly budget-to-actual variance analyses, and investigate significant deviations.
- Review SG&A cost centre reports for accuracy and financial integrity.
- Reconcile financial margins and reporting across SAP, BPC, BI and related reporting platforms.
- Perform ledger reconciliations across multiple ledgers and GAAPs, maintaining accurate GAAP adjustment records.
