Motor vehicle WORKSHOP QUALITY CONTROLLER

Our client operates a superior motor trade franchise and requires a Quality Controller to be assigned to the Workshop. 

Ideally you should be semi or qualified in motor mechanics with significant ability to undertake a comprehensive review of the work completed by the workshop. 

Your duties would include: 

  • To carry out road tests on vehicles that have been released by the Workshop Manager / Workshop Controller after completion of any services and repairs carried out.
  • To oversee the process of the vehicle(s) undergoing cleaning in the wash bay. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Check job card for work requested and work carried out and any specific requests for the road test.
  • Performs a comprehensive pre-test check as per Check List. Rectifies any failed checks and if necessary, advises Workshop Manager / Workshop Controller to rectify.
  • Confirms if the vehicle battery has undergone load testing and if not, effect such load testing to form part of the testing process.
  • Check that all mandatory equipment such as reflective tape, vests, triangles are installed in the vehicle and rectify where possible.
  • Drives completed serviced / repaired motor vehicles and observes performance to detect mechanical and structural defects. 

Oversee wash bay staff to ensure that protocol is observed on the following:

Notify the Workshop Manager , Workshop Controller of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.

Ensures that all vehicles meet standards with regards to Quality Control for clients.
