Our client operates in the Tobacco Sector and seeks to appoint an IT Technician
Responsibilities:
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications
- Monitoring and proactively maintaining computer systems and networks.
- Hardware & Software upgrades and maintenance
- Printer Service and Maintenance
- Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.)
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
- Linux, Fedora, Ubuntu Installation & Administration
- Good Understanding of the Windows Server Operating System 2012/2016
- Understanding of Computer Hardware and Software with the ability to diagnose issues and do basic repairs and upgrades when required.
- Provide first-line technical support either by phone, remote access, or site visits as needed.
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance reports schedule.
- Assist with Servers, LAN/WAN technologies, computer repair/troubleshooting software, networks, virus protection, Wi-Fi technology, and more.
- Network Cabling, installation, Configuration, and Troubleshooting LAN and WAN
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Information, Communication, and Technology
- 2 years’ work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Good problem-solving skills.
