Electrical Engineer – Paper and Packaging Plant

Our client operates in the manufacturing sector and seeks to appoint an Electrical Engineer – a newly created role. 

Purpose

Manage Electrical Engineering project life cycles, motivation, and management of special maintenance. Ensure maximum utility availability by managing maintenance in the plant. Perform root-cause analysis when necessary. Manage outsourced services. Perform condition monitoring and track the acquisition of spares. Ensure safe operation of the plant and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. 

Deliverables 

  • Monitor plant performance and Conduct trend analysis and condition monitoring to give early warnings to the Production and Engineering departments. Conduct Root-cause analysis on all critical equipment failures and update Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (Knowledge Management).
  • Adhere to SHE, legal, statutory, and regulatory structures and frameworks and promote a culture of compliance. Promote, manage, maintain, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
  • Provide technical support for quality control, process improvement, cost savings, and process development projects.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of plant machinery both electrical and mechanical through continuous improvement of manufacturing safety, quality, delivery lead times, and cost through the elimination of waste in the value stream.
  • Responsible for the design and modifications of machines and equipment to support factory output at a given quality.
  • Identifying the root cause of failures and implementing quick breakdown solutions to put the equipment back in operation within minimum turnaround time.
  • Monitoring and analyzing the equipment to avoid unexpected breakdowns and efficiently handling breakdowns & modifications by applying various efforts.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of all facility works in the company; including providing leadership and management of subcontractors’ serviceprovider safety precautions to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production.
  • Prepare the list of spares, tools, and other materials required for the engineering and maintenance jobs and issue the Purchase/Materials requisitions for the Section Head’s approval.
  • Keep track and follow up on all preventive maintenance schedules for all mentioned systems, ensuring all work is done promptly and documented to allow for later reference.
  • Preparing routine calibration scheduling and function test planning of all instrumentation
  • Conceptualizing and implementing process modifications for optimizing resource utilization and maximizing productivity and adapting automated systems for streamlining operations to enhance operational efficiency. 

Qualification & Work Experience

  • BSc (Hons) in Electrical Engineering or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of technical experience in a paper packaging plant environment
