Our client in the Agriculture Industry is seeking for a self-motivated person to fill the above position. Female applicants are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities:

  • Checking and confirming that posting of all payments and receipts into the ledger is done daily.
    • Confirm and ensure that the balance in the ledger is always up to date with the actual statement.
    • Performing the Treasury function ensuring that each Estate receives their updated Intercompany account by email at the end of each day.
    • Checking and confirming the posting of all payments and receipts into the detailed cash flow forecast daily.
    • Ensuring that a monthly file is available with AMS management accounts inclusive of the control account reconciliations and any creditors. This shall include a file of all the tax heads with filed returns and proof of payments.
    • Ensuring payment on all taxes by the due date.
    • Provision of the interest charges to the Units promptly i.e. sending the interest computation entries by the last trading day of each month at the same time as the intercompany statements.
    • Coordinating receipt of flash results from the Units and consolidation of these. Consolidated flush results are expected to be sent to the Finance Director.
    • Coordinating receipt of monthly management accounts from each Unit and consolidating the same.
    • Perform preliminary analysis for all the Units’ accounts and cash flows, highlighting technical errors as well as observations of enhancing the business processes or performance.
    • Expected to perform consolidation of the Group budgets within the stated deadlines.
    • External Audit- ensuring that the external auditors have all the information required expeditiously. At the start of each audit, a timetable shall be agreed on and shall be shared across the Group. Every Accountant in the Group shall ensure they meet the deadline.
    • To produce an annual report for review by the Finance Director on the agreed dates.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting
  • CA qualification is a prerequisite, and an MBA would be an added advantage.
  • Experience with group and management reporting, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Good knowledge of Sage or Pastel systems would be an added advantage.
  • 4 years’ experience in the accounting field.
  • 2 years in doing management accounts.
