A leading integrated agricultural business is seeking an experienced Plantation Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of a large-scale sugarcane estate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of plantation operations, including sugarcane agronomy, advanced drip irrigation, mechanisation, harvesting, workforce leadership, budgeting, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement. This is a high-impact executive role managing a workforce of over 1,000 employees.
Requirements
- Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related discipline (postgraduate qualification advantageous).
- Minimum 8 years’ commercial sugarcane production experience, including 5 years in senior plantation management.
- Strong expertise in sugarcane agronomy, advanced irrigation systems, mechanised farming, precision agriculture, and large-scale operational management.
- Demonstrated leadership of large multidisciplinary teams and sound financial, planning, and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable farming practices and Zimbabwean labour and environmental legislation will be advantageous.
