Treasury Manager – Manufacturing and Construction Sector

Our Client in the Manufacturing and Construction Sector is looking for a Treasury Manager urgently.

Purpose of Job

  • To manage the company’s cash flows such that the Company is at all times cash positive
  • To establish and monitor cash collection policies and procedures to maximize cash turn and minimize liquidity risk
  • To establish and monitor policies that minimise credit risk
  • To effectively manage the credit control function of the business
  • Preparation of monthly treasury reports
  • Preparation of monthly credit control reports
  • To prepare and monitor cash budgets and forecasts and identify potential funding shortfalls
  • To assist the Company Secretary and FD with evaluation of the commercial aspects of key contracts.
  • To develop and maintain policies and procedures to minimize foreign currency exposure risk
  • To maintain and enhance banking relationships and minimise cost of banking
  • To assist the FD and Group Ops Manager with ad hoc finance projects
  • To effectively manage the company’s insurance portfolio.
  • To effectively manage the Company’s cross-border transactions (imports)
  • To develop and implement effective service contracts.

Qualifications

  • CA, ACCA, CIMA, CIS or equivalent professional
  • MBA added advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years relevant business experience, with at least 7 years in a senior financial management role
  • Manufacturing and/ or mining industry experience will be an advantage
  • Practical experience in a supervisory credit control position.
  • Practical experience in a procurement function position.

 Special Requirements

  • Good understanding of corporate financial principles.
  • Good understanding of balance sheets and working capital management principles
  • Basic principles of project management
  • Credit Control principles essential
  • People management skills (including mentoring and coaching)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Compliance/Legislative requirements: Corporate Governance, Internal Audit Standards, Income Tax Act, Companies Act and any other laws applicable to the Company
  • Technical competencies:
  • Financial acumen essential
  • Advanced spreadsheet knowledge, experience and application
