Treasury Manager – Commodity trading to global export markets – high export earners

This newly created role reports and works closely with to the Group Financial Director at Head Office. 

You are expected to manage the company’s treasury policy, banking relationships, loans and investment and management of cash flows in forecasting and budgeting for the company. 

TREASURY POLICY 

  • Crafting the local treasury policy in line with Group Treasury policy guidelines and the related Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure policy is disseminated to the relevant people.
  • Quarterly review compliance to the treasury policy in the Board report. 

BANKING RELATIONSHIPS  

  • Ensure all bank mandates are up to date.
  • Arrange at least quarterly service review meetings with the various banks.
  • Review annually banks performances in relation to our portfolio, general credit ratings and any other information available. 

LOANS AND INVESTMENTS  

  • Updating the Model on new loans, costs, tenure, and maturity dates.
  • Initiating loan drawdowns for crop production, green procurement and working capital.
  • Funding their extensive projects.
  • Ensure management accounts, receivables, and inventory schedules are sent to financial institutions offering us loans and overdrafts monthly.
  • Initiate the renewal process of expiring facilities.
  • Advise the Finance Director on any investment opportunities for excess funds. 

EXCHANGE CONTROL COMPLIANCE 

  • Annually register offshore loans
  • Providing summaries of and expected impact of any new Statutory instruments and RBZ directives with a direct impact to business.
  • Ensure their export model is updated with new CD1s and tracking when PLZ should call for funds in time to avoid red flagging in liaison with the Shipping department and Group treasury. 

FORECASTING & BUDGETING 

  • Ensure the daily cashflow and bank balances are being circulated.
  • Preparation of the monthly global cashflow and submitting it to Group Treasury every 1st day of each month.
  • Ensure operations updates the monthly cashflow forecast with actuals.
  • Provide forecast interest and drawdown costs for budgeting purposes. 

Ideally our client seeks a person with current or previous banking treasury experience at a senior management level, or private sector treasury management experience with commodity trade finance experience, with knowledge of the various rules and regulations required. Your attention to detail and skill shall be well rewarded in full USD salary, medical aid, car allowance and other benefits offered.
