Our client, a Blue Chip, in the Agriculture sector, is seeking for a self-motivated person to fill the above position.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates and reviews the overall Security requirements concerning Company Properties, employees, technology, equipment, resources and contractors required for the year;
- Prepares a provisional annual budget in September and October for the Security Department based on the above data; discusses and agrees this with the Factory Director for inclusion into the Factory AOP;
- Devolves the annual budget into monthly plans, budget and checks that the Security Officer is monitoring the budget, identifying variances and addressing these;
- Reviews and maintains departmental Security and ISO procedures and ensures adherence to these;
- Checks and approves the site instructions detailing activities and roles for the security details for the period of the contract, and submits to the Factory Director for approval;
- Liaises with the Security Managers of the contracted Companies and the Security Officer, and approves the number and allocation of security details required per month;
- Approves the authority for access to critical areas outside normal operating hours; Signs off the log entry and exit of vehicles on a weekly basis;
- Approves the recruitment and training of the internal security details (approximately 25) via the Security Officer, and carries out Security induction training;
- Attends accidents involving company vehicles, liaises with the Police and the Human Resources Department regarding the safety of the driver and any Police and/or Insurance enquiries;
- Approves assistance with regard to farmer debt collecting by the Security Detail when required;
- Ensures that security compliance is being adhered to throughout the Company;
- Follows up with the Security Officer on possible criminal activity reported from internal or external sources, and ensures that there is a logical and agreed outcome by the Security Officer;
- Initialises a Police Report with regard to serious criminal activity (such as fraud), prepares reports for the Police and attends Court as a Witness or Complainant if required;
- Submits all reports and findings on the Police investigation to the Directors; Monitors the political and security environment and advises the Directors on relevant issues which may affect the Company;
Qualifications and Experience
- a) O/A Levels
- b) Diploma in Security Management or similar
- c) 6- 8 years Business and Commercial Security Experience
- d) Police, CID or Security Forces Rank from Superintendent and above or
- e) Criminal and civil law
- f) Investigations and Security procedures
- g) Written and Verbal Communication
- h) Team management and control
