Our client is a local and international operator who supplies power solutions to urban and rural households.
This senior role reports to the CEO with career development to Sales Director.
We seek applicants with a passion for solar power development working with communities and businesses across sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve business growth and revenue targets.
- Recruit, lead, mentor, incentivise and manage the sales team to optimize performance and productivity.
- Conduct sales and product training to ensure continuous improvement of sales staff.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in both urban and rural markets and agencies.
- Analyse market trends and customer needs to tailor sales approaches and product offerings.
- Set and control pricing to maximise margins and ensure competitiveness
- Oversee the development and execution of sales campaigns, promotions, and awareness initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate sales performance, providing monthly reports and insights to the executive team.
- Drive innovation in sales channels, including direct sales, pay-as-you-go (PAYG) models, and digital platforms.
- Set and manage customer service levels to deliver outstanding pre and post-sale customer care.
- Foster positive and productive inter-departmental relationships.
- Prepare inputs for annual budgets and new projects.
- Manage the departmental budget within agreed parameters.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
The person:
- Bachelor’ Experience in working with PAYG models, microfinance solutions, and rural distribution networks is an advantage.
- Degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales leadership, preferably in solar energy, FMCG, telecom, or financial services.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and expanding market reach.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Zimbabwe.
- Clean Class 4 Drivers licence.
