Retail Bank Executive – Channels, Products & Growth Focus

This executive role  will lead the Mobile Money business with a strategic focus on expanding distribution channels, managing agent networks, and driving user acquisition and activity.

The role is pivotal in scaling mobile financial services through effective channel strategies, through marketing and customer-centric growth initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Channel Development & Expansion
  • Design and implement strategies to grow and optimize agent networks, merchant points, and partner channels.
  • Identify and onboard new distribution partners to expand service reach.
  • Ensure geographic coverage aligns with market potential and user demand.
  1. Agent Network Management
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of agents and super agents.
  • Develop incentive structures and support systems to drive agent productivity and retention.
  • Monitor agent liquidity, compliance, and service quality.
  1. User Growth & Engagement
  • Lead initiatives to increase mobile money registrations, active users, and transaction volumes.
  • Collaborate with marketing to design campaigns targeting customer acquisition and retention.
  • Use data analytics to identify growth opportunities and user behaviour trends.
  1. Operational Excellence
  • Ensure smooth operations across all mobile money services including cash-in/out, P2P transfers, bill payments, and merchant payments.
  • Implement systems to monitor service uptime, transaction success rates, and customer satisfaction.
  1. Financial & Strategic Oversight
  • Develop and manage budgets for channel development and user growth initiatives.
  • Track ROI on growth campaigns and channel investments.
  • Align growth strategies with overall business objectives and financial targets.
  1. Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure agent and channel operations comply with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Work closely with risk and compliance teams to mitigate fraud and operational risks.
  1. Team Leadership
  • Lead cross-functional teams including channel managers, field officers, and growth analysts.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on execution, innovation, and accountability. 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field (MBA is a plus).
  • 7+ years of experience in mobile money, fintech, banking services, or telecom, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in agent/channel development and user growth strategies.
  • Strong understanding of mobile financial services and digital ecosystems.
