About the Role:
As the Resident Engineer, (Mechanical) you’ll take ownership of the reliability, performance, and availability of fixed and mobile equipment across both surface and underground operations. From crushers, conveyors, and pumping systems to haul trucks, loaders, and drilling rigs, you’ll ensure assets deliver maximum productivity with minimal downtime. You must also retain skills in maintenance management and general planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of fixed and mobile mining equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to maintenance teams.
- Manage breakdowns and ensure rapid, safe return-to-service of critical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, OEM, and company safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in asset performance, cost control, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital projects and equipment upgrades.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in mining operations (surface and underground).
- Strong knowledge of fixed plant (crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps) and mobile equipment (trucks, loaders, drills).
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability under pressure.
