A Bachelor of Degree in Mechanical/Industrial or Electrical Engineering – with 5 years’ experience in a leadership role.
The role reports to the General Manager of Mine.
You shall be expected to develop technical support to the core process by ensuring efficient acquisition, availability, utilization and disposal of all assets by enforcement of asset operating/maintenance, systems and standards to meet legal and industry best practice, planning and managing 2nd line and 3rd line maintenance, planning and executing capital projects, and provision of utilities for the Mine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Asset planning and utilisation
- Draws updated consolidated asset register to improve planning and replacement of assets at the location.
- Provides philosophies, systems and standards for the acquisition, maintenance and disposal of assets.
- Develops a centralised 1st line and 2nd line maintenance plans and schedules for all assets, 3rd line and long term assets planning and disposal.
Equipment maintenance:
Formulates plans for achievable mobile equipment, plant, hoists and compressors and rolling stock availability for the core process as follows ;
- Earth Moving Equipment
- Underground Rolling Stock
- Plant, Hoists & Compressor Machinery
- Service Vehicles
- Ensures in-source of the following services for the core process; machine shop capability to machine identified spares, fabrication capability for identified spares and structures, internal servicing of identified passenger vehicles, internal execution of identified civil works
- Carries out major refurbishment and overhauls of major core process equipment ball mills, crushers, hoists, pumps, transformers, compressors, electrical ac drive motors etc.
Business Planning
- Develop Long term, Medium term and short-term plans
- Identify new or existing areas requiring Capital Expenditure and facilitate project approval and implementation.
- Conduct monthly planning meetings tracking Tonnes produced, Cost Variances, Equipment utilisation and availability
