Our client in the Construction industry seeks a highly credentialed Project & Contracts Manager to lead the commercial and operational lifecycle of their construction portfolio. This is a critical leadership role requiring a unique blend of Civil/Structural Engineering expertise and Quantity Surveying precision.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic multitasker capable of overseeing three or more major sites simultaneously including high rise buildings and road infrastructure while ensuring total compliance with ISO standards and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Contract Lifecycle & Legal Oversight
- Negotiation & Drafting: Lead the discussion, drafting, and negotiation of complex business contracts and master service agreements.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential legal and financial risks within contract terms to safeguard the organisation’s interests.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects strictly adhere to legal requirements, company policies, and ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards.
- Record Management: Maintain a secure, centralised database of all contractual records and project documentation.
- Commercial & Financial Management
- Tendering & Bidding: Prepare high level commercial bids and technical tenders to secure new business.
- Budgeting & Estimation: Utilize Quantity Surveying expertise to produce accurate cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Cost Control: Manage construction schedules and budgets, aggressively addressing unexpected costs or variations to maintain profitability.
- Financial Close out: Oversee the final invoicing process, valuations, and retention releases at project completion.
- Multi Site Operational Leadership
- Cross Site Supervision: Simultaneously manage the technical and contractual health of three or more active sites (High rise, Structural, and Road Construction).
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between clients, site managers, legal teams, and subcontractors.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all construction activities meet agreed upon technical standards and structural specifications.
- Progress Monitoring: Conduct frequent site visits to audit progress against the project schedule and PMP benchmarks
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying.
- Master’s Degree (Project Management, Construction Law, or MBA) is a significant advantage.
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification is mandatory.
- Certified in ISO Management Systems.
- Professional registration with relevant Engineering or QS bodies.
- Proven track record in High Rise Buildings, Road Construction, and Structural Works.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple sites at an executive level.
- Advanced knowledge of construction law and standard contract forms Proficiency in design and visualization software, as well as project scheduling tools
- Exceptional leadership, time management, and high-stakes decision making abilities.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
