Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in interviewing and registering potential suppliers prior to contract negotiations, including visiting plants and distribution centres and discussing materials, products and quality standards with vendors.
  • Source, adjudicate and prepare purchase orders.
  • Participate in negotiations with vendors, including researching prices, products and other data beforehand and coordinating with suppliers to create optimal purchasing contracts / orders.
  • Expedite orders by verifying quantity and quality of incoming shipments, ensuring compliance with order / contractual regulations and working with vendors as necessary to resolve any discrepancies
  • Compile monthly order reports and other adhoc reports as and when required.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management / Purchasing and Supply plus minimum of 2 years’ experience in a mining or related environment.
  • Potential to develop excellent business skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • A good understanding of supply chain concepts and supplier analysis methods.

Preferred:

  • Professional certification or studying towards advanced level CIPS.
  • Experience in the mining environment with exposure to the process of importing goods and services.

Remuneration: $ 600 USD

Station: Harare, with frequent travel to the mines
