Mining Sector – Change Manager – Mine based – Blue Chip

Our client in the gold mining sector seeks to recruit a Change Manager based at the mining operations.

The incumbent will lead a transformation of the business systems to improve effectiveness and service delivery.

The incumbent must be highly competent in Syncromine, an integrated mine operation management system with functions and solutions in one interface.

The system to be developed must be capable of real time access to data by leaders, provide dashboard and aid management decisions.

The role reports to the Chief Information Officer. 

Key competencies 

Capability to configure the system for the following areas:

  • production and planning
  • safety, health, and occupational hygiene
  • staffing, time, and attendance
  • ore accounting and geological analysis
  • stores and ordering
  • equipment control and efficiencies 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare tools for conducting readiness for change, analyse data and present findings
  • Conduct special sessions with employees and other stakeholders to generate ideas, document requirements, and assessing their special needs to implement change:
  • Design, plan and execute special training programs and capacity building sessions of employees on change management.
  • Develop change communication plan in consultation with management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze resistance to change and devise strategies to overcome resistance to change.
  • Analyze the proposed cost and budgetary impact of change management.
  • Assist management with the realignment of employees to execute change management.
  • Monitoring and providing updates on project status to management. 

Requirements

  • A Degree in IT, Mining related disciplines, Project Management, Business Management, or a Social Science related qualification.
  • A postgraduate qualification will be an advantage.
  • Work experience in a mining environment is a must.
  • At least five years at management level, with demonstrated experience in training or people management skills.
  • Affiliation with professional institutes is a must.
