Marketing and Business Development Manager

Our Client – in the Health sector, seeks to appoint a Marketing & Business Development Manager. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position. 

Purpose:

To provide the overall strategic direction to marketing, brand management, and business development in order to achieve business profitability/objectives. 

Marketing and Financial Management  

  • Formulates Marketing Strategies to achieve group objectives;
  • Develop budgets for patient numbers and revenue
  • Conducts and performs regular competitor analysis,
  • Designs and implements marketing plans to achieve set revenue and growth targets;
  • Encourages and grows strong, mutual, respectful relationships with referring clinicians and healthcare facilities,
  • Identifies corporate partners in need of diagnostic imaging and medical screening services;
  • Works with various support teams such as Front Desk Receptionists as they are the patients’ first point of contact;
  • Identifies and facilitates any ongoing customer care training needs within the practice support team. 

PR and Corporate Communication 

  • Maintains visibility through various creative means that promote a distinctly high standard for the practice when communicating with interested parties;
  • Manages media strategy and press relations including social media platforms in liaison with the Business Development & Projects Manager;
  • Manages stakeholders’ relationships to create a good corporate image and sustainable business growth;
  • Scans the environment to anticipate future trends that may affect the group;
  • Manages all stakeholders effectively.  

Brand Management

  • Compiles and the updates the Group’s own database of doctors and referrers country-wide;
  • Ensures participation in National and International Health awareness campaigns;
  • Ensures that all tasks and activities that require funds must be presented with budgets, the standard is to seek 3 quotations and share them with reporting managers;
  • Prepares and presents budgets ensuring that the numbers are correct and that all bases are covered;
  • Monitors and ensures the in-house presentation of the practice is of the best quality and standard;
  • Monitors and ensures that all the practice’s representatives and staff are in their best appearance;
  • Participates in primary research, through various means and distribution to the brand’s target audience;
  • Facilitates customer care sessions for local staff and other interested parties.  

Business Development 

  • Conducts research activities on potential clients (organizations and individuals/ referrers) to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Develops business plans to increase market share and client base;
  • Plans and oversees new marketing initiatives;
  • Attends conferences, meetings, and industry events 

Customer Care/Client Experience 

  • Creates client experience and care strategies that benchmark overall strategic plan;
  • Creates synergies, enhances teamwork and cooperation between different functions, and promotes a positive client experience;
  • Interacts closely with customers, what their health care requirements are, and how to bridge these gaps in services available;
  • Develops and maintains an active complaint resolution or complaint framework and implements Quarterly satisfaction measurements/indices;
  • Facilitates a team to carry out strong customer liaison practices in the department;
  • Analyses and reviews information from feedback methods utilizing parameters such as patient demographics, examination types, and time of day when patients attend;
  • Works closely with various support teams to support programs and initiatives at the business units with a specific focus on adding value to the business;  

Qualifications and Experience 

  • BCom / BSc Hons in Marketing Business, Public Relations or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar or related environment with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial position.
