Our client is a fast-growing explosives & accessories manufacturer and supplier to the mining and construction industries within Zimbabwe and the region. 

They seek to appoint a Logistics Officer for their Harare Head Office. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Managing the logistics function of the organization, in liaison with the Supply Chain Manager in the most transparent, value-adding, and cost-effective way.
  • Providing logistic support to the different departments and overseeing the overall logistic processes in support of the objectives of the organization.
  • Planning, oversight, management, and coordination of logistics support operations to ensure the smooth accomplishment of the various organizational projects dotted around the different sites in the country.
  • Monitoring and coordinating vehicle movement and maintenance.
  • Prepare and submit weekly tracking/activity/mileage/fuel usage reports to management.
  • Driver Management including welfare/performance management/training/compliance/discipline.
  • Outsourcing to relevant external transporters that are suitable to carry particular loads.
  • Investigating and reporting any transport and logistics incidents immediately to management.
  • Performs ad hoc tasks as may be required by the Management. 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transport, Distribution, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Project management skills would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in inventory/supply chain management,2 of which must be at supervisory level.
  • Excellent skills in communication, analytical, well-structured, and organized.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Excel, and Pastel Sage Evolution.
  • Prepared to work weekends/holidays as and when required.
  • A clean class 4 driver’s license plus a valid defensive driving license.
