Our client, in the Mining sector, seeks to appoint an Inventory Analyst. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position.
Role:
- Maintaining and improving the company’s inventory management by analyzing inventory statistics to minimize working capital whilst ensuring all departments are timeously supplied with materials needed for operations and procedures are followed from receiving, storage, and issuing.
- The role reports to the Group Procurement Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement SOPs for inventory management and continuously improve inventory operations.
- Review and analyze inventory data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
- Ensure reconciliation of purchase requisitions generated against Purchase requisitions actioned by the buying department.
- Collaborate with purchasing and logistics teams to optimize procurement and transportation processes.
- Ensure that stores/ warehouse is properly stocked and there are no stock runouts.
- Make necessary follow-ups of PRs with the Buying department and report any outstanding important PRs.
- Ensure that the Sage system is always up to date and provide reasonable explanation for any variances.
- Ensure that all goods Received Vouchers are counter-signed by the Manager.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record system.
- Report all stock shortages and stock thefts to Management.
- Uphold safety standards in the department.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Professional qualification
- Must be computer literate, in Excel, and MS Word.
- Approximately 3-5 years post-graduate experience in the role.
- Experience with Inventory control, forecasting, and analysis preferred essential.
- Analytical with strong attention to detail, possessing acute commercial awareness and ability to interpret and implement data on trends and spending.
- Creating and maintaining inventory databases and systems for accurately managing inventory.
- Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, maths, and multi-tasking skills.
