Our Client in the ICT sector is looking to fill the above position urgently.
Main Purpose
- The Head should have a full overview of the IT project requirements ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within budget and of high quality standards. Responsible for managing, controlling and coordinating all the activities related to the implementation of projects in area of responsibility and across the , to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, as well as in compliance with the necessary standards and specifications
- To execute –
wide IT strategy in alignment with the Group IT strategy and initiatives, - Ensures IT alignment with the business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.
- To manage any IT outsource partners that fulfil services for the organisation.
- To direct and manage the design, planning, coordination, implementation and maintenance of the existing and new technology to ensure that leads the Technology Industry in line with the agreed Group IT Strategy
Executive Business Engagement / Accountability
- Develop the business and IT strategy into operational execution plans, objectives and monitoring mechanisms to ensure that the strategy is under execution while being closely monitored for success.
- Manage multiple business and IT priorities concurrently while delivering on the business as usual requirements of the Opco.
- Understand and operationalize the complexities of the Group and Opco operating model to focus on quarterly and annual objectives.
- Align the Opco to the overall IT strategy.
- Gather and manage Opco requirements and ensure these are represented in the Group IT strategy as an active member of both Opco and Group IT management teams.
- Develop the necessary plan/s to ensure that the OpCo IT teams meets agreed goals and objectives.
- Coach and mentor own team members as well as other IT employees in the Opco for performance improvement and career development.
- Contributes to the development of best practice in the Opco, with aim of driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Continuous assessment of the current Business process model, streamlining the process with best practises.
Information Communications Technology and Digital Transformation Strategy
- In conjunction with the Opco Executive Management Team participates in and contributes to the 3 to 5 year Strategic Plan by:
- Participating in the identification of 3 to 5 year strategic direction for the Opco and developing the long term Information Technology Strategic approach and plan;
- Cascading the Strategic Plans of Group and Opco down to the annual operating plan within IT;
- Driving innovation, value and performance through technology and operations governance;
- Developing and managing the capability for digital transformation;
- Identifying strategic partnerships to support the Information Technology Strategy (such as IT Projects and Operational Support);
- Analysing and identifying functional risks and security threats and developing mitigating plans to address these;
- Ensuring that clear Information Technology strategic medium to short term goals and objectives aligns with the Business objectives for the Opco;
Planning
- Develop, plan and execute according to project schedule and proactively monitor their overall progress, resolving issues, risks, dependencies and assumptions and initiating corrective action as appropriate
- Coordination of the projects and their interdependencies by building integrated plans, communication plans, risk logs for all projects
- Assure the participation and commitment of project stakeholders for all IT related projects which includes resolving any risk, project costs, project changes and other issues that may arise as the project progresses
- Effectively manage, communicate and ascertain agreement on the project scope for IT Projects. Manage changes to the project scope throughput the project lifecycle

Qualifications, skills and experience
- Bachelor Degree in Information Systems or similar
- MBA/Masters in Information Communications Technology or equivalent
- Telecommunication or ICT experience with at least 8 years at a senior management level
- IT Systems Architecture and Solutions

- Ability to ensure the development of the IT Teams in the current and advanced technology skills to enable the achievement of Departmental goals and targets,
