Our client has newly created the position to be based at Harare Head Office. The job reports to the Managing Director. The company is a wholly-owned Zimbabwean business and distributes products nationwide. The company operates across the significant retail – wholesale, and SME sectors. It’s an employer of choice with recognised brands.
You will lead from the front and work with a team across the sales and marketing function in the divisional companies. We seek strong leadership with a proven sales track record in the FMCG Sector at the senior level only. You are also expected to drive and increase sales-supported activities. You must have demonstrated competence in designing and creating strategically positioned business units, improving customer service by managing innovative and relationship-building strategies. A skilled leader with extensive experience in the rapid and sustained growth of fast-paced, high-pressure service operations, operating personnel, building and maintaining a client base through high-quality service delivery at a strategic level is required. You must also retain the ability to enhance and integrate business processes and systems to optimise efficiency and maximise profitability. Experience developing and maintaining systems and controlling business units at all levels is part of this challenging role. A combination of sales and brand marketing experience is required. A good knowledge of merchandising procedures and data analysis of customer trends to plan is essential for the role.
Excellent communication skills are required to attract and retain high profile clientele portfolio. You are expected to interact with other MDs/GMs and alike.
A self-starter with high regard for business conduct and good corporate governance skills at the board level is a crucial factor of the person wanted. A knowledge of building materials and products across these sectors would be a distinct advantage – however its not essential.
