Group Risk and Insurance Manager – Managerial Role – Blue Chip Employer

Corporate internal Insurance Specialist is required.

This role reports to the Group Legal Counsel at HQ.

The job is not based in Harare. Excellent living conditions are offered including housing – schooling and amenities to support living at Estate.  

  • Manages the annual onshore and offshore declarations for all policies for all Group companies in Zimbabwe.
  • Arranges the review and declaration of critical Items of Plant values.
  • Handles liability declarations to enable annual renewal of those policies, such as commercial crime.
  • Prepares for cover notes to be issued and premiums to be paid.
  • Submits the declarations, resolves queries and arranges renewal presentations.
  • Prepares for annual premium payments for offshore policies and quarterly premium payments for onshore policies.
  • Periodically registers claims, notifies brokers, completes claim forms, gathers, and submits supporting documents.
  • Designs and implements an overall risk management process for the company, including an analysis of the financial impact on the company when risks occur.
  • Analyses current risks and identifies potential risks that are affecting the company.
  • Conducts risk policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors.
  • Builds a risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company.
  • Enforces adherence to Safety, Health and Environmental matters 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management /Business Studies/Finance/Economics or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in risk management and non-life insurance management.
  • Strong risk management and general short term and Risk insurance knowledge.
  • Highly developed communication.
