The role requires the person to oversee the planning, development and execution of the Company’s marketing and advertising strategies and initiatives to generate revenue by increasing sales through successful marketing for the entire organization, using market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising and public relations across all our various markets.
To be considered for this role you must currently operate at the of Head Marketing level epresenting a recognised and successful brand.
Identifies, formulates and agrees the long-term Marketing strategic direction, goals and objectives across all Markets.
Leads and develops the marketing function in liaison with various stake holders to enable them to develop and implement the best possible marketing strategies and campaigns for the Company, whilst maintaining full marketing management responsibility for all marketing portfolios across various markets.
Develops the annual and quarterly marketing plans in conjunction with in country management with full accountability for the full promotional mix, budget & spend.
Ensures brand profitability through knowledge and management of product, price, promotion, place, and costs across different brands & different Africa Markets.
Plays a major role in the strategic development and preparation of Portfolio and Product Business Plans.
Liaises with the Head Executive, to guide the short, mid and long-term product and portfolio strategic direction by brand and by market.
Work closely with advertising agencies and ensure delivery of strong marketing campaigns for each market.
Accountable for the execution of brand campaigns in conjunction with franchising and in market management.
Gathers & analyses market data to understand industry & competitor trends and develops dashboards to evaluate Company performance vs competition.
Conducts market research for in-depth understanding of competitor advantages/activities and identify business opportunities.
Conducts product feasibility studies and outcomes for new product portfolios.
Ensures delivery of brand financial goals through detailed analysis and understanding of short-term & long-term brand performances, with special emphasis on marketing program effectiveness and drivers of the business model.
Manages the product launch process through effective resource allocation, maximizing product life cycles, and ensuring portfolio optimization in line with the defined business strategy and plans.
Ensures effective communication and collaboration across, Franchising, Marketing, Operations, Finance & in country management.
Establishes appropriate marketing systems and procedures to ensure efficient operations and appropriate control, based on quality and commitment to deliver on-time.
Controls expenditure according to product & portfolio priorities, ensuring cost-efficiency always and focus on advertising and promotion and other controllable expenses.
Directs and manages all activities of the Marketing function ensuring that staff are properly coached, given the opportunity to develop and be continually motivated to handle the demands of their jobs and achieve their objectives across various African Markets.
Negotiates and partners with key Opinion Leaders, Societies, Organizations, Funders, and Administrators. Our client requires the person to operate at full speed from day one and hence the skill criteria must be met in your application.
Be a holder of an appropriate Business and/or Marketing Degree.
MBA or equivalent post graduate qualification is a must.
Minimum of 8 years proven working experience at senior management in a marketing role with at least 4 years of these as the Head of Marketing.
Good knowledge and experience of core marketing, including but not limited to sales, key accounts, business development, vigorous marketing across multiple markets.
Possess a strong bias towards Digital Marketing and Customer Data Analytics.
Strong analytical and interpretive skills, and good coaching/Selling skills.
Strong personality with excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills across different management levels.
Able to lead by example and foster professionalism in the team through consistent and effective coaching; demonstrates strong training and facilitation skills.
Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
