Our client – Blue Chip, in the Tobacco industry, is looking for a self-motivated person to fill the above position.
- Ensures that procedures and controls are up-to-date and that identified control gaps are rectified timely under the review of the Finance Reporting Manager.
- Reviews the entity’s Key Control Matrix, liaises with relevant owners, and makes updates for review by the Finance Manager as and when necessary.
- Reviews systems user roles in SAP for Segregation of Duties (SODs) and remediates identified risks.
- Attends to internal audit requests (Compliance, SOX, and Regional Financial Controller’s reviews), coordinates and submits requested information, and follows up on the implementation of audit findings.
- Prepares data for annual insurance renewal and manages insurance claims under the supervision of the Finance Reporting Manager
- Receives and reviews insurance claims in liaison with various departments, submits to the Finance Manager for review, and forwards to the insurance company for processing.
- Ensures that monthly TB balances represent what the balances SHOULD be.
- Approval of purchase requisitions and work orders
- Computes, posts, and analyses inventory reserves (deferred crop costs and manufacturing variances).
- Prepares/reviews departmental data budgets each year and performs comparisons with prior periods for review by the Finance Manager.
- Prepares monthly variance analysis of budgets vs actual and investigates material variances.
- Runs detailed reports of SG&A cost centers and review contents for accuracy.
- Reviews and reconciles margins across various platforms.
- Performs ledger comparisons across various ledgers.
Requisite Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Bachelor of Accounting/CA/ACCA/CIMA or similar
- Two years’ experience in Financial Management, Reporting and Taxation
- Two years’ experience Tobacco Industry with knowledge of financial systems applications
- Finance analysis and reporting
- Ability to plan ahead (1 to 2 years)
- Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants/CIMA/ACCA/CIS
