Our client is a Blue-Chip employer in the Agriculture sector – is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team – reports to the Group Finance Director.

Purpose

Responsible for providing a Centre of Excellence (COE) function to assist in-country finance teams to meet each BUs financial objectives. Provide effective and efficient support to the internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing a Centre of Excellence (COE) function to assist in-country finance teams to meet each BUs financial objectives. Provide effective and efficient support to the internal stakeholders.
  • To provide the in-country finance teams with sound financial information and advice which significantly contributes to the overall effectiveness of the company.
  • Act as the COE on various finance projects, ensuring that financial best practice is implemented and that projects are delivered on time, in scope, and on budget.
  • Support in-country finance teams to deliver fit-for-purpose financial and treasury functions for the respective businesses.
  • Responsible for providing internal audit required work papers as well as remediation of audit issues. Owns the relationship with the external auditors and for assisting in the interim and year-end audits. Responsible for corrective actions in the external audit report.
  • Ensure that financial accounting and information systems are properly developed and maintained and that financial
  • Ensure that appropriate control systems are implemented according to accepted policy, statutes, and principles.
  • To consistently meet reporting deadlines in a professional and accurate manner.
  • To meet the requirements of various laws and regulations as regards records, returns, and meetings.
  • To manage the provision of management accounting support information to assist in the planning required to achieve the short- and long-term business objectives of the company.
  • Manage the compilation and control the management of the annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Contribute to positive relationships in the funding and investor community by providing accurate reporting and advice to the funding and investor community.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Accounting Degree
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) is an added advantage.
  • 5+ years of financial management experience. 
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in agricultural business.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial management accounting and financial laws and regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, compliance, and accounting principles
