Our Client – in the Mining and Manufacturing sector is urgently looking for an Electrical Engineer Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position.
Purpose
Manage Electrical Engineering project life cycles (feasibility to commissioning), as well as motivation and management of special maintenance. Ensure maximum utilities availability by managing maintenance in the plant and residential facilities. Perform root-cause analysis when necessary. Manage outsourced services. Perform condition monitoring and track the acquisition of spares. Ensure safe operation of the plant and compliance to relevant regulatory requirements.
Deliverables
- Monitor plant performance and Conduct trend analysis and condition monitoring to give early warnings to the Production and Engineering departments. Conduct Root-cause analysis on all critical equipment failures and update Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (Knowledge Management).
- Provide input into the planning and shutdown planning process. Assist with the post-shutdown review and make recommendations for Continuous Improvement. Achieve a high ratio of Planned vs. Unplanned Maintenance by identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve maintenance and operating practices.
- Liaise with mechanical and/or electrical foreman regarding improvements to engineering practices. Oversee and manage the Temporary Change Log process in order to safeguard production, personnel and plant equipment against failure. Conduct sign-off of outstanding actions on the Change-Log Book. Obtain Weekly sign-off of the Change-Log book by the Plant Engineer, and Monthly Sign-off by the Engineering Manager. Achieve optimal asset performance within legal requirements and corporate standards. Administer authorization as required.
- Adhere to SHE, legal, statutory and regulatory structures and frameworks and promote a culture of compliance. Promote, manage, maintain and ensure compliance with ISO EMS 14001:2015, QMS 9001:2015 & OHS 45001:2018 systems. Comply with audit requirements.

- Manage project life cycle from feasibility to commissioning. Hand over to production and close off cost centers
- Promote, within the department, establishing a culture of customer-centric service delivery and engagement with internal customers. Ensure internal customer satisfaction.
- Manage the expectations of external stakeholders. Interact with Auditors, Inspectorate and Statutory bodies.
- Creates a climate and culture of continuous improvement that supports a learning organization. Coach Engineering staff.
- Create a positive working environment and manage conflict.
Qualification & Work Experience
- BSc (Hons) in Electrical Engineering or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
- Mining or Heavy Industrial environment
- Project Management
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the cement manufacturing process
- Skills to consult at different levels
