Our client operates in the Mining sector and is urgently looking for a suitable person to fill the above position ASAP!
Role
This position will be responsible for the operations of the construction section including staff growth, staff development, technical leadership, quality control, support and coordination with other disciplines. Project types may include roads, dam construction, and other related mining infrastructure. The candidate will function as the Construction Manager on projects where appropriate. Will be responsible to ensure that Health & Safety protocols are followed. Responsible for implementing corporate policies and establishment and/or maintenance of engineering quality control processes and procedure during construction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or combination of education and relevant experience.
- Must have 3+ years solid experience in construction management.
- Proven leadership and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated construction experience on multidisciplinary projects. Experience in large earthwork projects would be an advantage.
- Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
- Must be able to work in a team environment with a focus on safety and quality.
- Must be computer literate, and experience with Microsoft Office, Project, or related construction packages.
- Detailed and accurate record keeping, and excellent communication skills.
