Our client in the Mining Sector requires the services of a Commercial Manager to join their Head Office team.
This is a newly created position and is part of the management team.
Ideally, you must have work experience from the Mining Sector or significant knowledge and proven experience in contract management, with excellent business acumen and operated at a senior level.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and manage commercial risks across the business operations.
- Provide extensive commercial support for high value projects.
- Develop and implement all the necessary policies, strategies, controls, and procedures to ensure that the commercial function operates effectively.
- Extensive review of contracts for service providers/contractors, ensuring the company achieves correct value from the contractors and service providers.
- Following up and ensuring both parties comply with contractual obligations.
- Participate in all contract negotiations at all levels, ensuring legal, compliance and risk issues are adhered.
- Develop and manage relationships with service providers, contractors and those parties retained by the Mining House.
Qualifications and Experience
- Related University degree.
Significant experience in contract development, review, and management in legal policies. - Mining experience in contract management
- A good business acumen required.
Working experience of commercial law an added advantage. - Good understanding of commercial risks.
