Our Client in the Agriculture Sector is seeking to appoint the their Chief Operating Officer.
This role has been revived after the last incumbent left and due to past COVID19.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position.
The incumbent reports to the CEO and supervises Heads of Departments and Agricultural personnel on all the Estates.
A senior back ground in Tree/Fruit/Horticulture/and other agricultural crops is required for this role.
Your must have a relevant BSc Agricultural background with both field and Head Office experience in management – research and development.
- Develop the Agric technical division strategic and annual business plans to achieve company objectives and targets.
- Planning, budgets, forecasts, implementing, managing and monitoring of agricultural activities and productivity.
- Formulate tree and plant protection and nutrition programmes and ensures adherence to good agronomic practices.
- Coordinate the formulation of irrigation systems and programmes on water, power supply utilization and optimization.
- Develops and manages agricultural information systems for use in the setting up of crop production targets and resource utilization efficiency parameters.
- Manages and directs all Agric Training and SHE programs in the Agriculture Technical Department.
- Drive adoption of global best practices and benchmarks with local innovation.
- Plan and develop depth of skills and capacity at all levels through operation.
Ideally you would also have an appreciation for business – operations – and basic finance.
The role works closely with the CEO and Shareholders both from Zim and SA.
