Chartered Accountant – ICAZ Membership required. 

This Executive Director role will lead the finance, information technology and Treasury function and reports to the Chief Executive Officer working along with other senior executives in the company.     

You are expected to prepare and implement financial strategy, policies and procedures and financial controls framework to ensure the achievement of the company’s financial objectives, controls and financial stability are met.     

  • Financial strategy and planning, monitoring, management, and reporting, including development and implementation of policies, systems and processes.
  • Reporting and accounting in accordance with relevant international financial reporting standards, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Provide budgeting guidance to business leaders and ensure the budgeting process meets the overall business plan and strategy.
  • Preparation and presentation of Budgets, including ongoing budget monitoring and control.
  • Financial staff management, motivation, training, recruitment, and selection.
  • Overall responsibilities for cash flow management, banking, and insurance placements.
  • Assistance in corporate level negotiations and dealings with major supplier/customer/partners/regulatory bodies.
  • Contributing to strategic business planning and development as a member of the senior management team.
  • Right hand to the CEO and a major player on the board, will be responsible for setting and driving strategy as well as delivering robust and timely financial information to the business and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement the organization’s financial and investment strategy as part of the overall business strategy and ensure the finance function works in partnership with the business to deliver key strategic objectives.
  • Strive to achieve a high level of efficiency in all areas of operation and maintain an environment of strict cost control which will provide the basis for funding a product range which meets the financial needs and aspirations of customers.
  • Recommend appropriate policies and procedures for internal controls and in compliance with international accounting standards, legal and regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Presentation of credible financials and other related reports to the Board of Directors.
  • Support the CEO and co-operate with Executive Management members (EXCO) in high level decision making on strategic issues pertaining to finance, information technology and other long-term investment initiatives.
  • In co-ordination with the CEO and other EXCO members, contribute to design and implementation of strategic measures aimed at preserving company’s assets, driving growth and profitability, and managing financial risks.
  • Integrate closely with all aspects of business development, including meeting with potential investors and presenting business/investment proposals to the same.
  • Oversee Group audits.
  • Ensuring availability of timely and reliable information in the organization through technology/digital platforms. 

This demanding role requires a Chartered Accountant (ICAZ Membership ) with 10 years post qualifying experience – whereby 5 years has been at senior management level.
