A well-established and growth-oriented mining operation is seeking to appoint an experienced and commercially astute Financial Director to provide strategic financial leadership across its mining operations
The role is based in Harare.
This is a senior executive role suited to a high-calibre finance professional with strong operational finance exposure, mining sector understanding, and the ability to support performance, governance, growth, and shareholder value creation in a demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial management, reporting, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and statutory compliance functions.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the Board and Executive Management team.
- Develop and strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks, and risk management systems.
- Drive cost optimisation, operational efficiencies, and financial performance across mining operations.
- Oversee capital expenditure planning, project evaluation, and investment analysis.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, regulators, investors, and key stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements, and corporate governance obligations.
- Support commercial negotiations, business restructuring initiatives, and growth strategies where required.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant qualification essential: CA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years’ senior finance experience, with significant exposure within the mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, or resource sectors.
- (Mining experience is first choice)
- Demonstrated experience operating at Executive or Board reporting level.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic oversight and operational execution.
- High levels of integrity, leadership maturity, and professional credibility.
- Experience in multi-entity, high-compliance, or complex operational environments will be advantageous.
