Purpose
The primary role of the Feed Mill Executive is to oversee the Feed Mill activities and ensure that all Feed Mill KPIs are reached aligned with strategic corporate goals and within budget.
Overall, a successful Feed Mill Executive combines technical expertise in feed production with strong business acumen and leadership skills to ensure the mill operates safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for manufacturing & supplying feed as per orders within specifications & KPIs
- Responsible for planning raw materials procurement to ensure availability, quality & competitive pricing
- Responsible for producing, maintaining & communicating the production forecast to all stakeholders
- Responsible for achieving financial KPIs as set out in the Feed Mill budget & for managing expenditure & costs
- Responsible for leading, managing & developing a highly performing Feed Mill team aligned with Company HR Policy, Values & Behaviours
- Overall Leadership accountability, Operational Excellence and delivery of performance of the Feed Mill team
- Ensure compliance with company QA, SHE, GHPs (Good Hygiene Practices), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and all other company SOPs & deadlines
- Responsible for the Feed Mill corporate risk controls & for ensuring compliance with legal & company requirements
- Responsible for all maintenance, upkeep, security and general appearance of the Feed Mill infrastructure, assets, equipment & stocks
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Degree in Animal Science
- Significant experience in feed production management,
- Strong knowledge of feed mill machinery and processes,
- Proficiency in managing production budgets and quality control
- Excellent leadership, communication, and safety compliance skills
