A mining client seeks a well-qualified Parts Manager to assist their procurement team at Head Office.   

Duties and responsibilities 

The success person works under pressure and must understand the fluctuating needs for various replacement parts to excel in the role.

You shall be responsible for keeping the workshop  well-stocked with parts requirements for mobile and fixed equipment. 

Job duties include: 

  • Forecasting parts needs and ordering parts to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitoring the current parts inventory
  • Pricing parts to order (Comparative Quotes)
  • Receiving parts, including placing them into inventory and properly labelling the
  • Helping procurement department find and purchase the correct parts
  • Overseeing special orders
  • Collaborating with service managers to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs. 
  1. Skills and qualifications 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Manage the inventory, pricing, and estimates
  • Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues.
  • Previous experience with Technical Ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced department.
  • Leadership skills to keep the parts department running smoothly
  • Product knowledge to ensure they identify parts correctly.
  • Understanding of Heavy-Duty Equipment, Front End Loaders, Excavators, Trucks
  • Parts Experience with, Powerstar, Howo, XCMG, Rondebult, Volvo, Cat, Weichai equipment
