Our client is a capable, hands-on Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of their manufacturing operations.
The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering background coupled with practical experience in factory workflows, despatch, logistics, stock control, and general factory operations and systems.
This is a senior position within a well-established company with a loyal and experienced team.
Candidate Profile
- Age Range: Ideally 30–45 years
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in factory or operations management, including production, despatch, logistics, and team supervision.
- Industry Background: Ideally from a processing, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
- Work Ethic: Proactive and hands-on, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment beyond regular working hours; comfortable interacting across all levels of the business
- Leadership Style: Effective in leading experienced teams, driving improvement, and managing change with minimal disruption

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily factory operations to ensure efficiency, quality output, and compliance with health and safety requirements
- Motivate and support staff to sustain morale and encourage strong performance
- Ensure all orders are accurately cut, processed, and completed on time and to the correct specification
- Manage and support site teams by:
- Providing clear daily work plans
- Ensuring timely site departures from the factory
- Promoting professionalism, safety, and efficiency on site
- Maintain tight stock control and minimise material wastage
- Supervise the despatch team to ensure prompt and accurate collection/delivery of goods
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to coordinate materials and services
- Ensure a monthly maintenance schedule is in place and strictly adhered to
- Promote and uphold high standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality across the factory
- Gain a working knowledge of production systems and machinery to assist with improvements and basic troubleshooting.
