Our client has been established for many years in the FMCG sector– currently, is looking for a person to take up the challenging and interesting position of Branch Manager based in Bulawayo.
The Role:
Responsible and accountable for branch operations. The Branch Manager is responsible for the delivery of the sales turnover, volume budgets and growth, the development and discipline of staff at the branch. The customer service and growth at the branch lies solely with the Branch Manager. Also, the custodian of stocks and assets (FF&E) at the branch.
Strategy:
- Implement sales strategy (go-to-market) in line with ambitions.
- Implement relevant sales and branch standard operating procedures
- Implement the best practices to deliver best in class sales operations practices and cost efficiencies.
- Maintain appropriate customer relationships.
- Responsible for branch customer growth.
- Deliver superior, timely market intelligence – pricing, competitors, new products on the Market.
- Ensure appropriate structure in place and Identify staff training needs
- Drive staff performance in line with the set performance standards.
- Ensure an audit rating and compliance of >95% is achieved at the branch
Sales Performance:
- To achieve monthly sales targets against set budget.
- To achieve the branch overall targeted GPs.
- Ensure that promotion and all sales initiatives are implemented in the store.
Ensure that customer service levels are achieved at the branch that is identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and current customers to understand service requirements.
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE:
- Deliver turnover, volume, costs and profit margin for the branch.
- To achieve the target profit margin for the branch.
- Track and report key financial metrics and daily stats submission
- Control spends and builds a culture of long-term saving on branch costs.
- Ensure that the costs are managed in the store and initiate any corrective action where there are variances.
- Ensure effective and efficient utilization of branch assets.
Business Development:
- Explore new customer opportunities to ensure business growth.
- Craft and execute winning branch promotions, with procurement collaboration
- Develop and execute new ways of doing business
- Gathering market intelligence.
- Meetings to ensure a shared vision and expectations with all staff at the branch.
- Managing subordinates TORs by coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, monitoring and appraising employees.
Stock Management:
- Ensure that the store is well stocked at all times with the right products and in the right quantities.
- To achieve stock turn according to the company standards.
- Ensure that stock rotation is adhered to as a way of reducing expiring products in the store.
- To maintain stock takes variances within the company’s expected standards.
- Ensure that the branch is carrying the correct range for each category for the respective target market.
- Ensure branch stock take is done and that any variances are investigated and reported.
Required Candidate should have the following:
- Business Related Degree or equivalent.
- Proven experience (at least 8 years) in a related field
- Good record of achieving sales targets.
- Managerial& Strong Selling skills
- Be able to demonstrate self-confidence, maturity and ability to work independently and deliver results without close supervision.
- Be able to demonstrate a keen ability to inter-relate with people in the upper / affluent market and have a service-oriented disposition.
- Mature and good communication skills (both orally and written)
- Should be aggressive, effective communicator, team player, sociable, versatile, resourceful, hardworking and self-initiative.
- Good presentation & interpersonal skills.
