They seek to appoint a Sourcing Officer responsible for handling the procurement of a substantial volume of imported and local goods for distribution to the retail and private sectors. 

Job Profile

The Sourcing Officer will be responsible for total management of the company’s procurement function. The various duties are, among other things:

  • Managing the entire purchasing function of the organization.
  • Optimization of inventory through continuous inventory level management.
  • Continuous reviews of the system’s parts/stocks re-order levels and replenishment of stockrooms plus management of pre-paid orders to suppliers ensuring all orders are completed on time.
  • Inventory health checks and critical point monitoring.
  • Sourcing, engaging & building a strong strategic key supplier base by establishing long-standing relations through supplier performance management with both local and international suppliers.
  • Monitor and record supplier performance to assess the supplier’s ability to meet quality and delivery requirements continuously.
  • Follow up on payments made to suppliers and ensure that suppliers are paid on time and within agreed time frames and adherence to credit terms/facilities offered.
  • Assist in formulating the objectives of the Supply Chain Department, including leading transformational activities to build procurement organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Liaising with clearing agent importation of goods; insurance of shipments, collection of goods, import control documents.
  • Fleet and asset management.
  • Assist in ensuring the communication and understanding of the Objectives throughout the Department. 

Qualifications, Experience and Skills.

  • A CIPS Level 4 Diploma or Degree in Procurement//Purchasing & Supply from a recognized institute.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in procurement/supply chain management, 2 of which should be at the supervisory/management level.
  • Excellent skills in communication, analytical, well-structured, and organized.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Excel, Pastel Sage Evolution, and ERP inventory systems.
  • Experience in a retail environment is an added advantage.
  • Prepared to work weekends/holidays as and when required.
