Our client operates in the Agricultural Sector with farming and abattoir operations with onsite livestock. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position.
Job Purpose:
- To effectively and profitably manage the purchasing, expediting and stores functions for the Farming Operations.
- To identify, select, purchase, and expedite the delivery of quality products or services for all Divisions within the standard time frame and specifications.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for
- Developing and maintaining sources of supply, selecting suppliers, negotiating prices and delivery dates
- Developing an effective and accurate system for monitoring purchase orders
- Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back-ordered or missing products
- Assisting the Stores Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
- Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or any related field.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients, and suppliers.
- Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company.
- An understanding of purchase order software platforms
- Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate.
- Math skills to make sure all calculations are correct and avoid any unforeseen losses for the company.
- IT skills to troubleshoot essential computer programs.
