Our client in the Manufacturing and Food industry – is urgently looking to fill the above position.
Role:
The position exists to develop, implement, and manage the business sales strategy and activities in order to meet the Company’s objectives for business growth and profitability. Identifies growth trends and opportunities and develops strategies to deliver improved topline growth.
Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy
- Develops the company’s sales strategy and efficiently executes it to ensure achievement of sales targets and business growth.
- Formulates business strategies responsive to changes in the market environment and competitor activities.
Revenue Growth
- Sets stretching revenue targets for the company and implements plans and strategies to ensure achievement of the targets.
- Manages the sales team to ensure members meet their set targets.
- Develops and executes a sales strategy specific to each sales channel to ensure sales growth.
- Manages the sales cycle and monitors product quality through accurate daily sales forecasts.
- Ensures trade debtors and cash collections, crates, returns and Stock On Wheels balances meet budgeted targets.
- Ensures timely and adequate market coverage.
- Identifies new business opportunities in the market and develops them into tangible results.
Route Profitability
- Ensures profitable delivery of bread on specific routes.
- Introduces initiatives to turn around non-profitable routes into viable channels.
Customer Relations and Agreements
- Builds strong, long-lasting customer relationships and partners the customers in understanding their needs and objectives.
- Ensure RRP compliance in all sales channels.
- Negotiates sales agreements with customers and ensures commercial viability.
Sales Budget
- Develops the Sales budget in collaboration with Marketing for approval by the CEO and manages department initiatives within the approved budget.
- Merchandising
- Oversees the merchandisers who are responsible for the sales of the company’s products in retail outlets.
Effective HR Management
- Provides leadership and ensures efficient and effective management of staff toward achievement of business objectives.
- Engages, develops, deploys and retains talented staff, including completing performance appraisals and personal development plans effectively, and on time in accordance with the established performance management system.
- Ensures the company has an effective sales training program.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related fields.
- MBA not a requirement but an added advantage
- 6 – 10 years of marketing experience
- 3 years experience at Senior Sales manager level
