Our client in the Manufacturing and Food industry – is urgently looking to fill the above position.
Purpose of the Job
The position exists to develop, implement, and manage the marketing business strategy and activities in order to meet the Company’s objectives for business retention, growth and profitability. Identifies growth trends and opportunities and develops strategies to deliver improved topline growth.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy
Leads the development and implementation of the Company’s marketing strategy, ensuring alignment to the overall business plan to sustain business growth and profitability.
Formulates business strategies responsive to changes in market environment.
Formulates and implements the public relations, branding and customer service strategy that will portray a good image of the company at all times and enhances customer service standards.
Marketing strategies development and target category market share and brand health delivery.
Marketing Plans
Develops marketing plans for specific product categories aimed at achieving business growth.
Provides accurate departmental financial information to senior management to monitor performance.
Reviews and approves Marketing activities to ensure attainment of business plan objectives.
Branding
Develops the brand’s marketing strategy and efficiently executes it to create awareness of the company’s products and brand activities.
Plays a leading role in the launch of new products.
Develops internal branding initiatives to ensure the company’s employees identify with the brand in all work activities.
Brand Communication
Coordinates media interest in the company and ensures regular contact with target media.
Crafts appropriate responses to media queries for approval by the CEO.
Manages the social media presence of the company and directs programs to improve social media reputation and recognition.
Product Pricing
Works jointly with Finance to establish and adjust product prices taking into account costs, competition and demand.
Product Quality Monitoring
Works jointly with Quality Assurance to monitor product quality.
Leads the Product Quality Evaluation process to influence the desired improvement.
Customer Relations
Manages product-related customer complaints to minimize brand damage.
Recommends promotions and customer loyalty programs for implementation by the company to ensure customer acquisition and retention.
Marketing Budget
Develops the Marketing budget for approval by the CEO and manages the department’s initiatives within the approved budget.
Market Trends
Keeps abreast with business trends in the market and reports to EXCO on demand, changing trends, economic and competitor activities.
Monitors competitor activities for competitive advantage.
Accounts for market analysis, brand support and positioning.
Agreements
Negotiates with media houses and secures viable agreements on the production of promotional material.
Effective HR Management
Provides leadership and ensures efficient and effective management of staff towards achievement of business objectives.
Engages, develops, deploys, and retains talented staff, including completing performance appraisals and personal development plans effectively, and on time in accordance with the established performance management system.
Ensures the company has an effective marketing training program.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields.
- MBA not a requirement but an added advantage
- 6 – 10 years of marketing experience
- 3 years at Senior Marketing Manager level
