The role reports to the Head of Human Capital
The Reward and Payroll Specialist leads the Country Reward Team and supports the design, management and implementation of the Company’s reward offering in order to support the attraction, motivation and retention of talent across the business.
The Reward and Payroll Specialist ensures efficient and accurate payroll processes and execution. The Reward and Payroll Specialist manages and maintains governance for all Reward Processes and addresses gaps in process, governance and audit findings.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provides reward consulting advice to the business in the form of reward levels and structures at time of appointment, annual reward reviews, interim reviews, and general reward assistance.
- Undertakes periodic remuneration surveys to assess market positioning for the business.
- Works with the Head of Reward and Head of Human Capital in country, prepares for Remuneration Committee meetings and communicates findings appropriately to OPCOs and line managers.
- Prepares the HC system for the annual review based on the mandate approved by the Remuneration Committees.
- Coordinates the annual bonus process and works with business units to ensure that all bonus awards are decided upon in line with the guidelines, approved and uploaded on time.
- Prepares a comprehensive review of the actual increases and bonuses for review and approval by the senior management and Remuneration Committees.
- Acts as the Reward interface for all HC system changes affecting reward.
- Conducts HC and Business training on Reward and Benefits.
- Ensures that all payroll submissions are made on time and in the correct format.
- Assesses payroll controls and practices to ensure ongoing governance.
- Administers monthly self-audit processes in order to improve service offering and governance.
- Addresses Audit findings immediately.
- Manages people costs with Head of Human Capital and Line managers.
- Reports monthly on actual versus budgeted headcount, actual versus budgeted people costs; actual versus budgeted overtime, leave balances.
- Tracks vacancy savings.
- Builds plans with OPCO, People Business Partners and line managers to manage people costs.
- Supports in building a culture of fairness and transparency in all reward processes.
- Assists with the entire Share Process from the preparation of data through to the distribution of share awards to recipients.
- Collaborates with the Head of Reward to compile job descriptions and conducts job evaluation at grades D and below and gives the appropriate feedback and support to People Business Partners and Line Managers.
- Assists the Head of HC with the quarterly reports for OPCO meetings.
- Assists with change management related to Reward projects and interventions.
- Leads specific Remuneration and Policy projects in order to create new products or enhances existing ones in line with Employee Value Proposition.
- Qualifications & Experience
- A tertiary qualification in business or human resources with strong numerical skills
- 5 to 7 years relevant experience.
- A good working knowledge of SAP HCM and Excel.
- Strong research, analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
