Our client seeks to appoint a Research and Development Engineer with In-depth Technical knowledge of research and design of agricultural implements and an appreciation of industrial manufacturing systems.
Role
Executes research and tests on product ideas, develop new products, and perform redesigns.
Responsibilities
- Conducting market research and evaluating similar products and their functions.
- Collaborating with the engineering and marketing department on product feasibility.
- Meeting with business management, marketing, and the R&D team to discuss product ideas
- Redesigning existing products to enhance functionality or reduce costs.
- Creating design projects and specification sheets.
- Presenting product designs to management and stakeholders.
- Overseeing the engineering of product prototypes.
- Testing prototype products for functionality, ease-of-use, and longevity.
- Conducting patent, product and trade market registrations internationally
- Resolving product issues.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Industrial Manufacturing/Agricultural Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
- At least 3-5 years proven experience in Research and Design
- A member of a reputable professional Engineering/Agricultural institute
- Knowledge of business management skills
- Proficient with computer design software including AutoCAD
