Scope:

The site Manager is responsible for all aspects of solar site operations, including personnel safety, oversee daily work activities, review work schedules, scheduling maintenances, maintaining project availability, the training and safety of all technicians, and communicating with the management team. In addition, the site supervisor is responsible for establishing site and individual goals, adhering to the site budget, including disciplinary actions, annual reviews and act as role model in field environment to ensure all procedures are followed as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all safety aspects
  • Diagnose PV system issues, including non-operation and underperformance, then develop and administer a remediation;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve solar electric warranty and service issues that arise with: modules, inverters, and all system components to ensure maximum system performance;
  • Keep all appointments as scheduled, confirm attendance and seek to optimize field time efficiently;
  • Prepare the site for works to completion and allocate duties to his team including tailboard meetings on safety procedures before work commencement;
  • Advanced troubleshooting of system issues as identified and scheduled by the Site Supervisor;
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism and interact directly with Epic Solar customers;
  • Record and submit daily paperwork associated with serviced or newly installed systems
  • Maintain and communicate supply and equipment issues to properly address all service call needs;
  • Ensure a high degree of workmanship as service and warranty work are completed;
  • Follow all safety policies while driving company vehicle and at all job sites;
  • Comply with necessary safety standards to assure a safe workplace/condition;
  • Perform other needed job tasks as requested by leadership;
  • Manage and supervise an installation

Qualifications, skills and Experience;

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in the renewable-energy industry;
  • Degree in a technical program preferred (electrical engineering or Instrumentation controls) or equivalent experience;
  • A minimum of 2-year current or previous experience in a supervisory capacity preferred;
  • 1+ Project Management experience an added advantage;
  • 2+ Experience with Health and safety management issues;
  • Experience working with current solar technology preferred;
  • Some computer experience required, creating spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Software Program;
  • Trades qualifications an asset: (HV Lineman, Electrician, Substation Technician or Controls Technician);
  • Ability to effectively use diagnostic equipment;
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain solar systems: panels, trackers, combiner boxes, invertors, meteorological instrumentation and substation equipment such as: electrical control circuits, transformers, high voltage breakers;
  • Be proficient in using and maintaining SCADA systems
  • Required to have and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Verbal and non-verbal; i.e., formal reports.

Remuneration $800 USD or equivalent
