Mine Planner – Gold Sector

Our client seeks a well-qualified and experienced Mine Planner capable of coordinating and planning medium to long term plans for both open pit and underground ore extraction hard rock to join their technical mining team.

You should be a qualified Mining Engineer or Mine Surveyor specializing in mine planning support services working in the planning department for 3 – 5 years.

You must have good computer software skills in any of the following:

  • Auto Cad
  • Model Maker
  • Datamine
  • Deswick or similar.  

The duties include:

  • Provide timely plans to the Ore Extraction team to enable achievement of objectives set in the Mine Business Plans.
  • Creation of monthly, quarterly and annual plans, including ore treatment forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance to, and monitor effectiveness of Mine Plans by daily engaging with the Ore Extraction team. ·
  • Reconcile plans to practical considerations and re-calibration where necessary.
  • Earthmoving equipment simulation and scenario planning.
  • Dumping scheduling, planning and monitoring of the rehabilitation program.
  • Identify Continuous Business Improvement opportunities.
  • Subscribe to and support the safety, health and environmental programmes.
  • Ensure that company policies, procedures and work standards are adhered to and kept up to date.
  • Enhance capacity in mine planning through training of junior Mining Engineer.
  • Ensure planning practices are performed according to standards and procedures (i.e. training and development).
  • Planning meetings with senior shaft management team and Mine Manager and CEO.

Other duties as required by the CEO.
